Kampong Thom, March 26, 2026 — A total of 332 families at Social Land Concession (SLC) sites in Koul commune, Sambo district, and Tumring commune, Sandan district, Kampong Thom province, received today start-up support materials from the Royal Government of Cambodia under the Land Allocation for Social and Economic Development Project III (LASED III), supported by the World Bank.
Presided over by H.E. So Khanrithykun, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction and Chairman of the LASED III Project Steering Committee, the distribution ceremony was held at SLC Koul, aiming to support the beneficiary families who have recently settled on their allocated land to begin building their new livelihoods.
Each family received necessary household and livelihood items, including solar lanterns, tents, 1,000-liter water storage containers, water filter buckets, mats, mosquito nets, blankets, rice, and basic kitchen supplies.
This marks the second round of distribution at the sites, following an earlier distribution in January 2026, during which 200 families received the same support. The remaining 281 families are expected to receive the assistance in the next phase, scheduled for next month.
In total, 813 landless and land-poor households have been allocated land under the project, with each family receiving a residential plot measuring 30 meters by 40 meters and an agricultural plot of two hectares.
Speaking at the ceremony, H.E. So Khanrithykun expressed appreciation to all stakeholders, particularly the beneficiary families, for their active participation in the project. He encouraged the remaining families to prepare for relocation to their allocated plots as soon as possible and begin establishing their homes and livelihoods.
The event was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, the Deputy Governor of Kampong Thom province, relevant provincial departments, and local authorities.
