Stung Treng, January 19, 2026 – The Land Allocation for Social and Economic Development Project Phase III (LASED III) management team, led by H.E. So Khanrithykun, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction (MLMUPC) and Chair of the LASED III Project Steering Committee, today conducted a monitoring visit to social land concession sites in Phluk, Samkhuoy and Sre Kor communes of Sesan district, Stung Treng province.
The visit focused on reviewing the progress of infrastructure development at the sites, including land preparation, road construction, and the building of schools, health posts, community halls, clean water supply systems and vegetable net houses. The team also inspected the installation of boundary posts used to demarcate residential and agricultural land plots.
During the visit, the team met with some land recipient families who began settling on the sites in October 2025 after receiving settling-in support from the project, aiming to hear feedback on living conditions and challenges faced by families on the newly allocated land.
Addressing the beneficiaries, H.E. So Khanrithykun applauded families who have relocated and begun establishing their livelihoods. He encouraged those who have constructed temporary shelters to build permanent houses using materials provided by the project and urged families who have not yet moved to their allocated land to do so as soon as possible.
Under LASED III, a total of 634 landless and land-poor families were selected from the three communes to receive social concession land from the project, including 226 families from Samkhuoy, 227 from Phluk and 181 from Sre Kor. Of these, 552 families received both residential and agricultural land plots, while 82 families received agricultural land only upon request.
Each residential land plot measures 40 meters by 60 meters, while agricultural land plots cover three hectares. As of January 2026, 518 families have built temporary shelters on their residential land.
