BATTAMBANG, Cambodia, 30 July 2026 — The Land Allocation for Social and Economic Development Project Phase III (LASED III), in collaboration with the Preah Phos Commune Administration, distributed settlement support materials to 421 land recipient families on Wednesday to support their transition and settlement at newly allocated Social Land Concession (SLC) sites in Preah Phos Commune, Koas Krala District, Battambang Province.
The distribution ceremony was held at the Preah Phos SLC site and attended by Mr. Moul Thun, Battambang Provincial Deputy Governor, the Koas Krala District Deputy Governor, local authorities, and representatives of relevant institutions.
The support package included solar-powered lights, tents, 1,000-litre water container, water purifiers, sleeping mats, mosquito nets, blankets, rice, and housing materials.
The 421 families received Social Land Concessions from the Royal Government of Cambodia under LASED III in February 2026. Among them, 249 families received both residential and agricultural land, 113 families received residential land only, and 59 families received agricultural land based on their requests. Residential plots measure 30 by 40 meters, while each agricultural plot covers two hectares.
The Social Land Concession (SLC) site in Preah Phos Commune covers a total area of 901 hectares. Under the land use plan approved by the Provincial Land Use and Allocation Committee, the site has been divided into 426 residential plots covering 51.22 hectares, 313 agricultural plots covering 626 hectares, 30.52 hectares designated for administrative facilities, 6.48 hectares reserved for future administrative use, and 44.06 hectares allocated as green space.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Moul Thun encouraged land recipients to settle into their newly allocated plots and begin constructing their homes using the settlement support and construction materials provided through the project. He also urged beneficiaries to work together with local authorities to establish stable and sustainable communities.
Following the distribution, the project team will continue working closely with the Preah Phos Commune Council and village chiefs to support beneficiary families in preparing their residential plots and constructing their homes and household latrines, helping ensure a smooth transition into their new communities.
