(Phnom Penh): His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister Say Samal, Minister of the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction, was invited to a meeting to discuss infrastructure development in Phnom Penh with His Excellency Chhay Rithsen, Minister of Rural Development, His Excellency Tho Jetha, Minister of Water Resources and Meteorology, and His Excellency Peng Purna, Minister of Public Works and Transport, and many other ministry leaders on the afternoon of December 1, 2023, at the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction.

At the beginning, His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister Say Samal said that this meeting is a good step on the right path, where inter-ministerial work together to better develop infrastructure in Phnom Penh.

His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister said that all relevant ministries and institutions must work together to solve problems and have shared responsibilities. On behalf of the Urban Planning Committee, the Ministry of Land Management will invite relevant parties to meet to discuss and gather input to facilitate the process of improving infrastructure in Phnom Penh before submitting a proposal to the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Head of the Royal Government of Cambodia for review and approval.

His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister also took this opportunity to encourage members of the Cambodian Architects and Engineers Committee to think creatively about their skills to better participate in preparing infrastructure at the capital, provincial, district, and commune levels with quality and efficiency.

Preparing infrastructure in Phnom Penh is part of the urbanization development cluster, which is the seventh priority among the 15 policy priorities set by the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction for the 7th mandate of the Royal Government.
