(Phnom Penh): His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister Say Samal, Minister of the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction, has instructed all ministry leaders to contribute to turning Prime Minister Hun Sen’s long-term vision into concrete work and serve the people with all their might.
His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister spoke at a meeting to review, consult and direct core work in the field of land management, urban planning and construction on the morning of January 10, 2024, at the same time as Prime Minister Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, finalized the policy formulation for the 7th term and outlined the strategic direction for Cambodia to move towards future prosperity.
His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister said that human resource development is at the core of the Prime Minister’s mindset, in which knowledge and know-how must go hand in hand. No reform is easy. Successful reforms must be based on four key factors: (1) a clear and far-sighted vision, (2) high commitment from all levels of the government, (3) sincere participation from all stakeholders, and (4) dedication to the common good. What the King wants in contemporary Cambodia is three: independence, peace, and a modern Cambodia.
Regarding the land sector, HE Deputy Prime Minister Say Samal stated that the Department of Land Management, Urban Planning, Construction, and Cadastre, which has issued land ownership certificates to citizens according to the plan, will be encouraged. As for the departments that have not yet issued certificates to citizens, we need to help coordinate and resolve the challenges to promote the issuance of certificates quickly, so that citizens can have security in legally owning their land.
