(Kampong Speu): His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister Say Samal requested the provincial land administration, the Department of Land Management, Urban Planning, Construction and Cadastre of Phnom Penh, volunteers and members of the Cambodian Youth Union (CYU) to join in using their full strength to accelerate the land registration work in Kampong Speu province to be effective and successful as planned, aiming to benefit the people and ensure the security of legal land ownership.

His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister spoke on the occasion of handing over real estate ownership certificates to people in 3 villages in Kampong Speu province on the afternoon of January 12, 2024.

His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister thanked all the working groups for their tireless efforts in promoting the work of issuing real estate ownership certificates to the people to bear fruit now, which is a great honor for all the working groups and the honor of the ministry.

This year, 2024, marks the 40th anniversary of the issuance of land titles to citizens, and His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister hopes that the issuance of these titles will provide legal security to citizens over their property, which is guaranteed by law, and will make these properties more valuable for citizens to use to improve their lives.

So far, the Ministry has handed over approximately 5 million land titles to citizens, and we still have approximately 2 million titles being distributed to citizens every day. Nationwide, we still have approximately 5 million plots of land to be measured, including approximately 400,000 plots of land to be measured in Kampong Speu province. In the future, the Ministry will provide better services through mobile phones to facilitate citizens to use these titles more easily.

It is worth noting that the Royal Government of Cambodia, the 7th term of the National Assembly, has launched the Pentagon Strategy, Phase 1, which includes deepening land and urban planning reforms with the creation of a three-point land policy, including systematic land registration, out-of-court settlement of land disputes, and the provision of land administration services to citizens with transparency and efficiency, aiming to improve the living standards of citizens.

Land registration work to continue to provide title deeds to the people quickly as a basis for economic resources and security of land tenure is the fifth priority of the 15-point policy priorities that the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction has put forward based on the priorities of the Pentagon Strategy in the fourth pentagon, the fourth angle.
