(Svay Rieng): With due consideration for the welfare and livelihood of poor citizens, veterans and their families, the Royal Government of Cambodia has provided real estate ownership certificates to 200 families of social land concessionaires in Chik Dey Village, Andong Trabek Commune, Romeas Hek District, Svay Rieng Province on the morning of January 16, 2024.
At the handover ceremony on January 16, 2024, His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister Say Samal, Minister of the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction, conveyed greetings from His Excellency President Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and His Excellency the First Lady to the citizens, as well as all concessionaires, government officials, land authorities and armed forces in Romeas Hek District.
The Deputy Prime Minister stated that in addition to receiving the property ownership certificate now, citizens will receive a new village expansion that is connected to the old village and is organized according to the conditions and ideas of urbanization, including the construction of narrow roads according to techniques that are different from the old village.
With the organization of the new village expansion, there will also be considerations for the economy in accordance with what we call rural borey, including the need to expand the town, have roads for travel, have markets, schools, and hospitals, measure the plots clearly and issue ownership certificates to citizens to prevent land disputes, and each plot should be divided into sections to improve family livelihoods, of which 1/4 of the plot is a house, 1/4 is a pond for raising fish or to have water to irrigate various agricultural crops, another 1/4 of the plot is for planting crops, and another 1/4 is for raising animals.
His Excellency Say Samal requested the citizens to preserve and protect this valuable asset for future generations and to use it properly according to what we have agreed upon, because there is no other country in the world like Cambodia where the Royal Government has worked hard to overcome all obstacles to prepare houses and land for veterans to live in and to generate income for the future of all veterans’ families.
His Excellency thanked the civil servants under the Ministry and the Department of Land Management, Urban Planning, Construction and Cadastre of Svay Rieng Province, as well as civil servants at all levels, land authorities, commune and district councils in Romeas Hek District, who have cooperated well in promoting the implementation of this project to be fully successful. This is the first project implemented in Svay Rieng Province, and there will be other projects that will be implemented in the future. Despite the challenges, it is necessary to promote the successful implementation of all projects to meet the needs of the citizens.
The 7th term Royal Government, led by Prime Minister Hun Sen, has put forward clear policies to lift poor people out of poverty and ensure a decent standard of living like the general public.
