(Phnom Penh): The leadership of the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction said that the study on the infrastructure development work in the capital is carried out with the aim of changing the face of our capital to be more beautiful, improving living comfort and attracting investment, that is, improving the quality of life and lifestyle, in line with the Cambodian Vision 2050 as a high-income country, and making the world recognize that the people of Phnom Penh are fortunate to live in the beautiful capital of the Kingdom of Cambodia.
His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister Say Samal delivered a speech at the inter-ministerial meeting on infrastructure development in Phnom Penh at the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction on February 13, 2024.
His Excellency said that the new face of Phnom Penh must maintain the values of Phnom Penh, including preserving the old heritage and continuing to increase new heritage in the future for future generations.
This new face change will require cooperation between the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction and the Ministry of Public Works and Transport. The two ministries will collaborate in studying the legal aspects of dilapidated buildings and preparing standards for the construction of various infrastructures. At the same time, the main factors to be discussed together are the improvement of old buildings and the construction of new buildings to meet the socio-economic and cultural developments of Cambodia.
His Excellency Peng Purna, Minister of Public Works and Transport, said that the ministry is ready to cooperate with the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction to implement standards in both fields of expertise to promote infrastructure projects to truly transform the new face of Phnom Penh, making Phnom Penh a capital with pride and attractiveness.
