(Phnom Penh): The leadership of the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction expresses its pride and appreciation for all the graduates of the Associate Degree in Cadastre who have continued to build and improve their capabilities to contribute to the development of the country.

His Excellency Say Samal, Minister of the Ministry of Land Management, spoke on the morning of March 20, 2024, at the graduation ceremony for the 11th, 12th and 13th batch of Associate Degree in Cadastre graduates who received training from the Ministry’s Vocational Training Center.

Today’s achievements are an effective and timely response to the first phase of the Pentagon Strategy of the 7th term of the Royal Government, especially the development of human capital, which the Prime Minister has called a valuable asset and a foundation for the development of the national society.

His Excellency thanked the Vocational Training Center and the General Department of Administration, with the Department of Personnel as its headquarters, for fulfilling their roles and responsibilities with great responsibility.

Mr. Cheam Sophal Makara, Director of the Vocational Training Center, said that considering the need to prepare future officers in land management, urban planning, construction, cadastre and geography, the ministry decided to establish a vocational training school in the fields of land management, urban planning, cadastre and geography. Since 2011, there have been a total of 14 classes of the Associate Degree in Cadastre training course, with 436 trainees, 49 of whom are female, and the 14th class is currently underway, with 19 trainees, 6 of whom are female.

The Associate Degree in Cadastre program has been evaluated by the National Education Quality Assessment Committee of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports on 22 subjects, equivalent to 66 credits, and has a study period of 8 months. At the end of the course, trainees are required to write a group report on the completion of the course, focusing on five topics, including civil code, land law, surveying techniques, cadastral conservation and geographic information systems (GIS).
