(Siem Reap): In a meeting with officials from the Department of Land Management, Urban Planning, Construction and Cadastre of Siem Reap Province to promote land registration work in the province on the morning of April 20, 2024, the leadership of the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction confirmed that the Royal Government has been transforming Runta Ek and Pang Sang in Siem Reap Province into model rural towns in Cambodia.
His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister Say Samal said that the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction and the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, the Apsara National Authority, and the Siem Reap Province authorities have been working together to build physical infrastructure in Runta Ek and Pang Sang to support the well-being and better living conditions of the people in both areas. In addition, we have also fulfilled our duty to protect and preserve the valuable heritage of our ancestors for future generations.
On that occasion, His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister also handed over equipment to the Department of Land Management, Urban Planning, Construction and Cadastre of Siem Reap Province to promote land registration work, including 11 measuring machines, 6 of which were provided using funds from the LASED III project and 5 were provided using funds from the LASSP project, 12 desktop computers, 6 laptops, 12 UPS Prolinks, 6 scanners, 6 printers and 6 LCD projectors.
It is worth noting that the Royal Government of Cambodia, the 7th term of the National Assembly, has launched the Pentagon Strategy, Phase 1, which includes deepening land and urban planning reform with the creation of a three-point land policy, including systematic land registration, out-of-court settlement of land disputes, and providing transparent and efficient land administration services to citizens, aiming to improve the living standards of citizens.
Land registration work to continue to provide title deeds to people quickly as a basis for economic resources and security of land tenure is the fifth priority of the 15-point policy priorities that the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction has put forward, based on the priorities of the Pentagon Strategy in the Fourth Pentagon, the Fourth Angle.
