(Svay Rieng): On the morning of April 24, 2024, the leadership of the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction led a meeting to discuss the cases of the Daun Toy reservoir, the Batho reservoir and other reservoirs in the geography of Svay Rieng province, with the participation of HE Tho Jetha, Minister of Water Resources and Meteorology, and HE Dith Tina, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.
In this meeting, HE Deputy Prime Minister Say Sam Al led the determination of the responsibilities of the territorial authorities, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, and the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology in the use of the Batho reservoir, the Daun Toy reservoir and other reservoirs in the geography of Svay Rieng province. HE said that land management and land registration cannot be implemented alone, but must be carried out in cooperation with all relevant parties so that the work can proceed smoothly and effectively. Land registration is to create an environment free from land disputes in Cambodia and strengthen the security of legal land tenure, promoting the use of land to its full potential, which will certainly reduce poverty, which is the goal of the policy to promote land registration of the Royal Government of Cambodia.
His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister also instructed the Svay Rieng Provincial Administration to consider the preparation of master plans, urban planning, housing, agricultural land, pedestrian streets and public spaces in accordance with the potential of the province to develop the province into a place with a comfortable environment and a healthy lifestyle for citizens.
With this, His Excellency mentioned the satisfactory service that operates through a digital system, providing convenience for citizens to use and receive services anytime and anywhere with internet access. His Excellency highlighted the strategic work of the Ministry to officials and district administrations as well as the Svay Rieng Provincial Administration to strengthen cooperation and build internal solidarity and unity well, with the participation of all stakeholders in implementing policies and the cooperation and support of officials as executives and the participation and support of citizens. Only then can the land registration work, including the registration of state public land, state private land, citizen land, private land, protected area land, agricultural land and military historical land registration, be carried out smoothly and efficiently, in accordance with the vision of the Royal Government of Cambodia.
Please note that the meeting requested the registration of state land under special procedures for a number of water bodies with potential for agricultural and clean water use, such as: O Smach Reservoir, approximately 633,448 hectares, located in Svay Chrum District and Svay Rieng City; Wai Ko Reservoir, approximately 1,778.89 hectares, located in Svay Chrum, Romduol District and Svay Rieng City; Daun Toy Reservoir, Thlak Kambot Reservoir, Svay Ya Reservoir, and Batho Reservoir, approximately 1,640.741 hectares, located in Kampong Rot District and Chanthaburi District; Prek Neal Reservoir, approximately 681,988 hectares, located in Svay Rieng City, Svay Chrum District and Kampong Rot District; Prek Tapov Reservoir, approximately 180.515 hectares, located in Bavet City; Tradet Reservoir, approximately 116,069 hectares, located in Svay Rieng City, Svay Paep District and Kampong Rot District; Wai Ko Krom Reservoir, approximately 78 hectares, located in Svay Chrum District and Svay Rieng City; Prek Kampong Kok Approximately 76 hectares are located in Svay Chrum district and Svay Rieng city, and the 405 hectares of Prey Kon Kakir plantation are located in Bavet city.
