His Excellency Secretary of State Pen Sophal and His Excellency Secretary of State Chhoeun Bunnaroth invited to chair the first meeting of the working group to promote the preparation of land use master plans and land use plans at the city and district levels of Kandal province. As a result, the meeting decided to put forward a plan for further implementation, including:

1. The physical plan for the city/district level of Kandal province must consider the preparation of a smart city master plan and a livable city, the potential that can be used for development and creating local markets, livelihoods and the well-being of citizens in order to respond to climate change resilience, maintain and enhance local and national identity values. A mobility plan using artificial intelligence (AI) technology and in line with the Ministry of Public Works and Transport’s transport master plan.

2. The work of preparing the master plan and land use plan is divided into three steps:

– Step 1: Update the actual plan (infrastructure plan and land use plan)

– Step 2: Prepare a plan for the future, taking into account the five core sectors including economy, society, environment, culture and natural resources

– Step 3: Summarize the results to determine the vision for 2050.

With the invitation of His Excellency, the Head of the Working Group in charge of the 13 cities/districts, representatives of the Kandal Provincial Administration and a total of approximately 100 relevant departments and units.
