Kampot: The Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction (MLUMP) has stated that Kampot province is considered the second largest tourist destination in Cambodia after Siem Reap and will likely become the first tourist destination in the future. In this regard, the Youth Union of Cambodia (YUC) in Kampot province must further develop themselves in terms of language and professional skills to contribute to providing services that attract more tourists to the province.

This was stated by HE Deputy Prime Minister Say Samal during a meeting with members of the YUC in Kampot province on the morning of July 20, 2024 at the Bokor Conference Hall in Kampot province.

HE Deputy Prime Minister Say Samal, on behalf of the YUC President, highly appreciated and valued the achievements of the YUC in Kampot province and expressed his deep gratitude to the Provincial Council and the Kampot Provincial Government for supporting the activities of the YUC in Kampot province in helping the national society.

His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister considered that this is an important time for the Cambodian People's Party and the entire nation because Cambodia was a country that had suffered from many stages of war, which led to insufficient capacity to develop human resources and save resources well. However, from after 1979 to the present, Cambodia has gradually developed and progressed. Up to now, the 7th Royal Government of Cambodia has made continuous efforts from the previous Royal Government in setting the right direction for the development of the country forward and towards happiness. Therefore, it is a great opportunity for the development of human resources with quality and potential, which is an important factor for the development of the country in accordance with the vision of the Head of the Royal Government.

In addition, His Excellency observed that the people of Kampot are currently civilized in their lives, have a good standard of living, and have a high level of culture, which is a sign of orientation towards happiness for the Cambodian people. Therefore, as the Cambodian People's Party, we must consider what to do for ourselves and the national society in the future. We must prepare for the future ourselves as cells of Kampot province, as the sons and daughters of Kampot province, who will prepare to build and develop Kampot province ourselves.

Specifically, regarding the Funan Techo Canal project, His Excellency believes that the construction of this canal demonstrates the strong will of Cambodia, represented by Samdech Techo. The time has come for all of us to prepare our country well so that we can live under the spirit of independence, meaning self-reliance without asking for advice from anyone in building our national life to survive forever.
