(Phnom Penh): To gather key inputs on the work of preparing the master plan for the Veal Veng-Pramoy region in Pursat province, as well as to identify development and conservation areas, determine the use of natural resources in a targeted, efficient and sustainable manner, prepare conservation and development strategies in the field of natural resources, economic integration with Thailand through the Thma Da border crossing, and determine the development of towns in all communes in Veal Veng district as a whole, the leadership of the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction organized an inter-ministerial meeting under the chairmanship of His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister Say Samal, Minister of the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction, at the ministry’s office on the morning of August 1, 2024.
The preparation of the master plan for the Veal Veng-Pramoy region in Pursat province is to help local people secure legal land ownership and be able to invest in their land and create additional jobs to improve their families’ livelihoods. The preparation of this master plan can be used as a basis for increasing cross-border trade between Cambodia and neighboring countries, maintaining political stability, and creating new economic potential through the preparation of new tourist areas and encouraging more people to live there.
Meanwhile, HE Say Samal stated that after the surveying and registration of land is completed and the disputes are resolved, the next work of the Ministry of Land Management is urban planning, which is an important task to prepare a master plan for land use, cities, and towns with the aim of providing legal and economic benefits to citizens and improving their living standards.
