The second discussion, under the theme of “Temple Conservation, Water and Forest Management, Traditional Research, Archaeological Excavations, International Cooperation and ICC-Angkor”, of the consultation program on “Management of the Angkor World Heritage Site”, reviewed and discussed the efforts of the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, the Apsara National Authority, and the ICC-Angkor Committee on preserving the outstanding universal value of the Angkor World Heritage Site through the conservation and preservation of tangible and intangible heritage, which are indispensable components of the Angkor Park area, the management of construction in the Angkor Park area to maintain the integrity and authenticity of Angkor, the improvement of the livelihoods of “Angkor residents” through the creation of agricultural and tourism service options, the maintenance, repair, restoration, and construction of ancient irrigation structures and supporting infrastructure to manage water resources in the Siem Reap-Angkor area, the protection and conservation of biodiversity in the Angkor Park area, the cleaning, repair, and maintenance of temples, archaeological excavations, and the identification of archaeological sites in the Angkor World Heritage Site area.
