Sardr Umar Alam, UNESCO Representative in Cambodia, expressed the desire to preserve and protect both the ancient temples and the people in the consultation on “Management of the Angkor World Heritage Site”.

This is in line with the vision of the Prime Minister, Samdech Maha Bovorathipdei, who put forward that between Angkor and the people, we must take both.

Angkor, the ancient temples, is a national heritage and a cultural treasure of humanity, unique on this earth, representing the glorious culture and civilization of our Khmer nation. The people, the Royal Government has the duty to serve and protect the noble interests of every citizen, every family and every political and religious belief, without discrimination of color. “Without the people, there is no great nation of ours”.
