(Phnom Penh): The leadership of the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction emphasized that the time has come for land management to set a clear direction so that Cambodia can move forward and transform itself into an upper-middle-income country and reach a high-income country by 2050.
Speaking at a training session on the implementation of land use planning for communes, towns, and cities held at the Ministry’s headquarters on the morning of September 25, 2024.
His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister Say Samal mentioned the first phase of the Royal Government of Cambodia’s five-pronged strategy on land management, urban planning and construction, including the completion of land registration and the planning of cities and towns, infrastructure construction, maintaining the resilience of cities, and building and developing rural areas into rural villages with all the necessary infrastructure for citizens to live comfortably, becoming a peaceful village that provides happiness for citizens, and maintaining the value of living for all people for this generation and future generations.
With this, His Excellency stated that what the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction has been implementing and is currently implementing is a response to the first phase of the Pentagon policy and strategy of the Royal Government of Cambodia, which has five priority areas: people, roads, water, electricity, and digital technology. The Ministry has made great efforts to implement various principles, including human resource training through training courses or workshops, etc., to achieve the sacred desire of the Head of the Royal Government of Cambodia to help improve the lives of citizens in both urban and rural areas, so that there is no gap between them, and to encourage Cambodia to achieve its vision of becoming a high-income country by 2050.
