In order to better prepare the Angkor National Park area under the vision of the Royal Government, the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction has collaborated with the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, the Siem Reap Province Administration, relevant ministries, institutions, communities and organizations, and under the direct leadership of His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of the Ministry of National Heritage and Culture and the Chairman of the Inter-Ministerial Working Group, studied the actual situation of the areas affecting the temples and ancient sites to find appropriate solutions, including:

1. Collecting data on land plots with buildings, agricultural land plots, statistics on the number of residents and households in the first and second protection zones of the 114 ancient villages.

2. With the goal of improving living standards and property ownership rights, the Royal Government has prepared the development of the Runta Ek and Paeng areas to provide to families living in the Angkor National Park area who voluntarily move to live in the two development zones through a lottery, with each family receiving a plot of land measuring 20m x 30m and providing necessary infrastructure such as roads, clean water, electricity, schools, hospitals, markets, temples and other policies, etc.

3. So far, there are 9,904 families who have voluntarily drawn lots to accept the policy of receiving land plots to live in new locations, including 5,865 families in the Runta Ek development area (5,686 received land titles) and 4,039 families in the Paeng development area.
