On the morning of September 4, 2025, the Royal Government of Cambodia granted social land concessions to 229 landless and landless poor families living in 10 villages in Poi Char commune, Phnom Srok district, Banteay Meanchey province.

 

The social land concession was awarded under the Land Allocation for Social Affairs and Economic Development Project, Phase 3 (LASAIT 3) of the Local Social Land Concession Program at a lottery ceremony to select residential and agricultural land lots, which was held at the social land concession site in Poi Char commune, under the chairmanship of His Excellency So Khonriththikun Rath, Secretary of the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction and Chairman of the LASAIT 3 Project Steering Committee.

 

The participants in the ceremony included leaders from the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, His Excellency the Deputy Governor of Banteay Meanchey Province, Deputy District Governors, the national project working group of the Ministry of Land Management and Rural Development, the provincial working group, local authorities, and poor families who will receive land.

 

The families who participated in today’s drawing were priority families on the concessionaire list who will receive residential and agricultural land from the project. Of the 229 concessionaire families who will receive land, 171 families will receive one 30m x 50m residential plot and one 1.5 hectare agricultural plot per family, 25 families will receive only 1.5 hectares of agricultural land per family, while the remaining 33 families will receive only 1 hectare of agricultural land per family.

 

The social land concession site in Poi Char commune has a

n area of ​​440 hectares, divided into residential land (30.60 hectares), agricultural land (327 hectares), administrative area (4.61 hectares), and green area land (4.01 hectares).

 

The next step of the project will accelerate the development of key infrastructure, including preparing and clearing land for settlement and farming, marking the boundaries of residential and agricultural plots, constructing a 7,215-meter red gravel road and a 735-meter concrete road, and connecting roads to the site, a community hall, a community market, 20 pumping wells, installing solar street lights, and an irrigation system so that all concessionaires can live and make a living on the site in the near future.
