Recently, several media and social media outlets have been reporting on the implementation of measures at the Land Allocation for Social and Economic Development (LASED III) project site located in Village 3, Trapaing Kruang Commune, Kon Mom District, Ratanakiri Province.
The Ratanakiri Provincial Administration would like to inform the public that, in accordance with Sub-Decree No. 19 of the Royal Decree No. 19 dated March 19, 2003 on Social Land Concessions and with the support of the LASED III project, a 3,500-hectare area located in the above village, commune, and district has been requested by the Provincial Land Use and Allocation Committee to convert public land into private land for the implementation of the Social Land Concession Program for the truly poor. The above land has been demarcated from the land plots that were measured and provided to the people through Order No. 01 of the Provincial Government dated May 7, 2012.
Based on this situation, competent authorities at all levels in the province have the necessary obligation to take measures to protect and preserve the above land from attempts and illegal encroachment to prepare and implement mechanisms step by step to distribute land to citizens transparently and effectively, based on clear criteria for assessing the qualifications of beneficiaries.
The Ratanakiri Provincial Administration calls on all citizens to please stop all illegal encroachment activities and cooperate with competent authorities so that the implementation of this project can be successful, leading to poverty reduction by providing land and creating livelihoods for the truly poor. In case of real needs, please contact local authorities so that the competent authorities can identify the beneficiaries based on the criteria for assessing the qualifications of the beneficiaries.
Based on the above, the public and journalists are requested to be informed.
