The meeting highly appreciated the requests of the representatives of citizens and authorities in 114 villages and took these requests as the basis for preparing future land use regulations.
Consultation on “Management of the Angkor World Heritage Site Area”.
This is the third consultation on determining the conditions of land use and management of urban planning and construction in the Angkor World Heritage Site Area, organized by the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction, the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, and the Siem Reap Provincial Administration, with the participation of representatives of the Embassy of Japan, the Embassy of France, representatives of UNESCO, World Heritage experts, Apsara authorities, village heads, commune heads, and representatives of citizens from 114 villages in the first and second protection zones of the Angkor Park to discuss the preparation of the conditions of land use, urban planning, and construction in the Angkor site area as a basis for moving to the next step, which is to consider promoting investment to increase Siem Reap’s income and economy, to promote heritage conservation and improve the livelihoods of Angkor residents.
