Speaking at a discussion and activity meeting to inspect Boeung Thom, which is geographically located in Rolai Bayer, Cholkiri and Kampong Chhnang city, Kampong Chhnang province, on the afternoon of July 9, 2025.
His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister Say Sam Al said that the ministry will test the definition of a master plan for land use for all 130 communes around Tonle Sap Lake, starting from Kampong Chhnang province. His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister said that we chose to start from Kampong Chhnang province because the province has completed land surveying, so what we have in hand is a cadastral map, making it easy to determine the master plan for land use at the commune level. In addition, Kampong Chhnang province is a strategic place for fish farming, with great potential for the agricultural and economic sectors.
Meanwhile, regarding the large lake in Kampong Chhnang province, HE the Deputy Prime Minister instructed the working group to examine how to register the lake, by clearly defining where the lake's water surface must be and where it can be used as a reserve area for the benefit of the people of Kampong Chhnang province, such as building public parks, etc.
HE Say Samal said that the work that the ministry should do after completing the land survey is to continue studying and providing advice on the economic value of the land according to the potential of each province to help improve the livelihood of the people, promote development, and strengthen the national economy.
