(Phnom Penh): The leadership of the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction stated that the current meeting was held to reach an agreement on the work of preparing the use maps of the communes in the Tonle Sap and Siem Reap-Angkor regions, which have unique characteristics separate from those specified in the Land Law, and what we all do is an obligation to the nation to preserve our ancestral heritage.

Speaking at an internal meeting to introduce the work on the preparation of the use maps of the communes in the Tonle Sap and Siem Reap-Angkor regions, which was held at the Ministry's office on the morning of July 16, 2025.

His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister Say Samal added that this work requires the participation of all relevant parties to accelerate the work. The working group must make cadastral maps of 114 villages in the Angkor World Heritage Area based on the reality on the ground, prepare master plans, and change the conditions of land use in the Tonle Sap and Siem Reap-Angkor regions to promote the resolution of remaining disputes in these two areas quickly.

Meanwhile, HE the Deputy Prime Minister added that the policy that the ministry has put forward since the beginning of this 7th mandate, as indicated by Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate, and Samdech Maha Vajiralongkorn Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, is related to the task of creating a dispute-free environment in Cambodia. Among them, the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction has prepared a policy: the registration of completed land has been carried out nationwide, and so far, only about 170,000 plots of land remain to be fully measured. At the same time, it is also necessary to clear up the problem of land measurement that has been unclear in the past and needs to be improved.
