Within the framework of the National Committee for the Management and Development of the Cambodian Coastal Zone (NCCDZ), HE Deputy Prime Minister Say Samal, Minister of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction, led a meeting attended by HE Senator Ly Yong Phat, HE Minister of Environment, HE representatives of ministries and institutions that are members of the National Committee for the Management and Development of the Cambodian Coastal Zone, HE Governor of Preah Sihanouk Provincial Council, representatives of provincial administrations along the coast, and many other relevant institutions.
The meeting was organized with the aim of discussing and exchanging opinions to examine the potential of resources in the Cambodian coastal zone as a whole, with a view to considering the preparation of a unified plan for continued development and conservation in accordance with the potential and favorable conditions, leading to the promotion of tourism, investment and trade in order to continue to maintain the potential of this area as an important economic corridor of the country, which has created job opportunities and absorbed a lot of income for the people.
Through the participation of the members of the meeting, HE Deputy Prime Minister Say Samal decided to assign the task to the Secretariat of the National Committee for the Management and Development of the Cambodian Coastal Zone to prepare the land registration and study the potential of all coastal zones as a common economic corridor.
While National Road 48 and National Road 10 will soon be completed, the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction has already submitted a proposal to the Royal Government to prepare a cycling path. This infrastructure will encourage the connection of many fishing communities located from Koh Kong to Kep provinces to become new domestic tourism destinations, especially for domestic tourists, which will provide many job opportunities and additional income for the Cambodian people.
