(Phnom Penh): The leadership of the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction said that in accordance with the policies of the Royal Government of Cambodia, the Ministry has implemented a land registration plan in the Tonle Sap Lake area, including the entire Kampong Chhnang province, and is ready to implement some requests from provincial and district administrations. The Tonle Sap Lake issue is a matter that we all must dare to decide to determine the principles of managing the Tonle Sap Lake precisely without letting it drift, to avoid facing loss.
Speaking at an inter-ministerial meeting on land management discussions in the Tonle Sap Lake area of Kampong Chhnang province on the afternoon of February 10, 2025.
His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister Say Samal proposed to examine clearly in some areas of the Tonle Sap Lake area to move towards re-designation and to prevent land from being cut off as their own property.
His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister stated that we must all think together, decide together, and be responsible for future generations in preserving Tonle Sap Lake, a valuable natural resource, in a sustainable manner, because Tonle Sap Lake has great benefits for the nation that can help support the economy, society, and culture of all Cambodian people.
