His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister Say Samal has encouraged authorities and residents of Koh Rong to clearly understand the types of tourism on Koh Rong, to clearly understand the purpose of tourists who come here who need a quiet vacation with fresh nature, to breathe in the fresh air from the sea, and these are things that all of us, Koh Rong residents, need to understand and think about how to attract more tourists to come here through the rich tourism potential that exists on Koh Rong.
On that occasion, His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that the investment in the construction of the multi-purpose building and the luxury hotel has directly benefited the people of Koh Rong. Therefore, His Excellency instructed the Koh Rong Municipal Administration to strive to mobilize investors to invest more in Koh Rong. The three armed forces must be committed to ensuring the safety and public order of tourists and residents of Koh Rong, so that residents as well as national and international tourists can feel comfortable and enjoy traveling here safely. They must also continue to build infrastructure on Koh Rong, including building roads, installing lights, and installing security cameras, etc.
With this, His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister will strive to mobilize funds to install a clean water filtration system here, properly invest in clean water storage sites, properly manage garbage, and organize a community to grow vegetables and raise animals, to provide sufficient supplies for Koh Rong residents and tourists, all of which will provide great benefits to the people of Koh Rong and develop the island into a popular and more attractive tourist destination.
Please be informed that Koh Rong remains an attractive place for foreign direct investment, especially in the tourism sector. At the same time, the head of the Royal Government Working Group in Preah Sihanouk Province also instructed the authorities to pay attention to the security and safety of tourists, develop necessary infrastructure including roads, water, electricity, internet, growing vegetables, chicken, duck, food storage stations for daily use on the island itself, garbage management, general cleaning of the island and management of dirty water, etc., all of which aim to ensure the sustainability of the island’s economic growth and improve the livelihood of the people of Koh Rong as a whole.
